Job Description
Primary Purpose:
The Sprinkler Tech will be responsible for keeping all irrigation systems running properly and in good working condition. Timers will be set for proper time and length of watering. All lawns and plant material must be kept green and healthy. Maintenance, the landscape must be free of weeds, pests, and rubbish. The equipment, tools, and vehicles must be cared for on a daily basis. Essential Functions Responsible for the care of existing irrigation system(s) on the job site(s) Responsible for checking the entire system, trouble shooting and repairing any broken or non-functioning systems and parts; this includes sprinkler heads, pipes, valves, controllers, etc. Responsible for making sure there is proper amount of watering and no over spray on to sidewalks, walkways, property structures, etc. Responsible for inventory and set-up of irrigation parts and supplies in the shop and sprinkler truck or cart Assist maintenance and installation crew members with irrigation repairs or installs. Perform general maintenance duties. Perform shop duties. Perform other related duties as may be required or assigned Other Functions Assist customers with their various needs Complete a service record for each job site and turn in to the manager or proper assigned person, at the end of each work day. Report any concerns or work that needs to be followed-up on. Handle various problems that may arise on the job site. Motivate and supervise assigned partner.Working Conditions:
Work outdoors in all types of weather and many different types of conditions such as; dusty, hot, muddy, level properties, and steep hillside properties. Frequent use of different varieties of fertilizers which will be applied to the lawn by hand or with special equipment. Use of Herbicides and Pesticides.Work Hours:
7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m., Monday
- Friday or as needed for Saturdays and Emergencies.
Physical, Mental, and Communication Demands:
Requires lifting of at least 75 lbs, frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and moving equipment. Requires operating power equipment which is heavy and loud. Requires good communication skills (verbal and written).Skills/Knowledge:
Must be able to operate machinery and equipment (such as Tiller, Bobcat, and Kanga), be able to follow instructions and safety procedures, including safety rules of operating equipment. Able to identify various plant and grass types. Good decision making skills to handle various problems that may arise.Requirements:
Must have a current Florida Drivers License and a clean Abstract of Traffic Record.Experience:
18 months landscape and irrigation installation experience preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age.BENEFITS
