Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Fertigation Technician ensures optimal plant nutrition and hydration by accurately mixing and applying nutrient solutions and monitoring irrigation systems. This role is responsible for data collection and troubleshooting within the fertigation system. All duties must be performed in compliance with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) regulations.

7:00 am - 5:30 pm,
Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday Pay:
$21.58/hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Data collection and entry: related to environment, irrigation readings, and irrigation runoff.

Assessing & reporting plant health & hydration needs & irrigation dataFertilizer mixing/PH adjusting: Accurately filling and mixing water for plants with nutrients and PH adjusting.

Irrigation system monitoring: Emitter/drain checks. Ability to create, troubleshoot and monitor irrigation equipment. Calibrating and using EC and PH meters to capture and check irrigation runoff to ensure accurate system dosing.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITES
Identify and report signs of plant stress, nutrient deficiencies, pests, or diseases to the Cultivation Leadership/Integrated Pest Management (IPM) team.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be 21 years of age or olderMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a Registered Agent CardBasic math skills to manage nutrient ratios and measurementsAbility to abide by safe chemical handling protocolsUnderstanding of and ability to follow chemical handling and mixing directions/ratiosWillingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to sanitation and biosecurity rulesAbility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, or as needed
