A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.
$23-$30/hr. (depending on experience) Summary This role assists with various aspects of agricultural field research, including outdoor fieldwork and indoor laboratory support. This role requires working both independently and as part of a team while performing repetitive tasks accurately. The position involves physically demanding work in outdoor environments and may require occasional weekend and extended hours during peak seasons. Job Description Assist with planting and staking research plots. Perform pollination activities. Collect research data using electronic devices. Maintain research plots, including weeding and general upkeep. Perform hand harvesting of crops. Assist with spraying activities. Support process improvement projects. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Ability to learn and use iOS devices for electronic data collection. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods. Experience with pesticide application is preferred but not required. training. Additional Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Ability to bend, stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
