Job Description

Job Summary At NDGI (North Dakota Grain Inspection), we are dedicated to providing accurate and consistent inspection of agricultural products. We strive to always be the most dependable and precise inspection option available to our customers. With our commitment to excellence, we have established ourselves as a trusted agency in this industry. NDGI's Grain Sampler position entails going out to elevators that are serviced by our Wayne City, IL office. The sampler is outdoors for much of the shift and on top of railcars and/or barges at different times of the shift, shutting and sealing the railcar and barge lids, writing down the railcar and barge ID's and seals numbers onto the work records, and maintaining accurate results. the Sampler meets at the Wayne City, IL office and takes a company vehicle out to the sites. Hours are variable and there is not a limit on the amount of overtime that can be made when it is available. Starting wage is $18.00 per hour, however, hours worked on Saturday are paid at time and a half ($27.00/hr), and hours worked on Sunday are paid at double time ($36.00/hr). Weekday hours worked outside of our normal 7am to 3pm will receive an additional $5.00 per hour on top of your base rate. Unless, of course, you are past your 40 hours in the week, which in that case, you would get time and a half pay. Responsibilities and Duties Collect representative samples following federal regulations Maintain accurate work records with legible handwriting Shut railcar and barge lids Seal railcar and barge lids to maintain sample integrity Follow all safety policies Qualifications and Skills Ability to bend/lift over 50 lbs. Be able to move through the entirety of the shift Able to work 12+ hour shifts while standing Feel comfortable on top of railcars at 17 feet off the ground (usually with fall protection) Feel comfortable working on top of vessels on the water Work variable hours and shifts Be able to physically handle working in grain dust environments Be willing to work in various climates and weather conditions No experience required Benefits include: PTO Holiday Pay BCBS Health Insurance -NDGI contributes to your monthly premium The Standard Insurance for dental/vision/life The Standard supplemental insurance (Short Term Disability, Cancer, Accident, Hospital, Critical Illness) HSA's available 401k plans available after 1 year with employer contribution Benefits offered at 30 days, however, per ACA law you must continue to average 130 hours per month in order to keep the benefits. We will measure after your first 4 months to see if that average is being maintained and then we measure each year in October to determine eligibility for the next year.
