Overview Join our dynamic agricultural team as a Fall Harvest Equipment Operator and play a vital role in ensuring a successful harvest season! In this energetic position, you will operate and maintain a variety of heavy machinery and farm equipment to maximize productivity and efficiency. Your expertise in equipment handling, safety standards, and farm operations will contribute directly to the smooth running of our harvest operations. Duties Operate agricultural machinery including tractors, harvesters, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently during the fall harvest season Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on farm machinery and equipment using hand tools, power tools and basic mechanical knowledge Assist with livestock management tasks such as animal handling, animal husbandry, feeding, watering, and ensuring animal care standards are met Support irrigation systems setup and operation to optimize crop growth during harvest preparations Supervise or assist with manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting, loading/unloading supplies or harvested crops, and equipment setup Maintain safety standards by adhering to production safety protocols, conducting inspections, and ensuring all equipment is operated responsibly Collaborate with team members to coordinate harvest schedules, manage farm animals, and ensure smooth workflow across all farm operations Skills Proven experience operating heavy farm machinery such as agricultural tractors, harvesters, forklifts, and other equipment Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs on farm machinery; welding experience is a plus Familiarity with farm maintenance tasks including equipment repair, MRO (maintenance, repair & operations), and routine inspections Ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions with physical stamina for manual handling and heavy lifting Knowledge of safety standards in agricultural production to ensure a safe working environment for all team members Competence in using hand tools, power tools, basic math skills for measurements or calculations related to farming activities Strong teamwork skills with supervisory experience preferred for overseeing other workers or assisting in training new team members This position is an excellent fit for individuals passionate about farming who thrive in outdoor environments and are eager to contribute their skills during the busy fall harvest season.
