Overview Join our dynamic team as a Horse Groom Barn Hand and become a vital part of maintaining a thriving equine environment. You'll be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our horses while supporting the overall farm operations with your mechanical skills and hands-on approach. Duties Provide daily grooming, feeding, watering, and general care for horses to promote their health and comfort Assist with horse handling during training, veterinary visits, and daily routines using proper livestock management techniques Maintain clean and safe stables, paddocks, and barn areas by mucking stalls, sweeping, and organizing equipment Operate farm machinery such as tractors, forklifts, irrigation systems, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently Perform minor repairs on farm equipment and tools; assist with welding or mechanical troubleshooting as needed Support pasture management through irrigation setup, fencing repairs, and pasture rotation to ensure optimal grazing conditions Follow strict safety standards during all tasks to prevent injuries to staff or animals; adhere to farm safety protocols at all times Skills Proven experience in animal husbandry, livestock handling, or equine care with a strong understanding of animal behavior and needs Supervising experience in farm or barn settings, capable of overseeing team tasks or guiding new staff members Skilled in operating agricultural machinery including tractors, forklifts, power tools, and irrigation systems Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair, maintenance of equipment, welding skills preferred Experience with manual handling of heavy loads and use of hand tools safely in outdoor environments Familiarity with farm maintenance operations such as irrigation setup, greenhouse work, horticulture practices or greenhouse experience is a plus Knowledge of safety standards in agricultural production; ability to implement safety procedures effectively Basic math skills for inventory management or equipment calibration; experience with ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structures) operation beneficial Strong outdoor work ethic with the ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining attention to detail in animal care tasks This role offers an exciting chance to develop your skills across animal husbandry and farm machinery while working in a vibrant outdoor setting.
