A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description

Work Study Greenhouse Assistant Posting Details Position Information Title Work Study Greenhouse Assistant Position Description BSU's Greenhouse contains the Biological Science Department's living plants collection, as well as research space. The Greenhouse is utilized by varied members of the campus community for class visits, tours, and events. New specimens are regularly added to the three distinct climates, and the space is open to visitors. The Greenhouse Assistant will be responsible for the following: pruning planting pest scouting cleaning repotting exterior garden work Additional duties depend on student interests (e.g. propagation techniques, specific plant families, social media) and general Greenhouse needs. Eligibility requirements:
Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester. Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package Preferred Qualifications Experience is helpful but not required, as instruction will be provided. Experience with growing plants, greenhouse experience is a plus A love of plants and a desire to learn about them is a must! Physical Demands Must be able to work in high temperatures and high humidity. Usually, temperatures during the school year are reasonable, but high temperatures are possible.
