Job Description

About the Role BeWell Organic Medicine is seeking a Cultivation Associate to support daily cannabis cultivation and production activities at our Lowell facility. The Cultivation Associate performs tasks throughout the cannabis plant lifecycle and helps execute production plans for cannabis products produced for sale in Massachusetts. Working under the Cultivation Manager and alongside other Cultivation team members, the Cultivation Associate may perform plant-care activities across propagation, vegetation, flowering, harvest, and post-harvest stages. This role is responsible for completing assigned plant-care and production activities safely, accurately, and in compliance with company procedures and Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform daily and scheduled cannabis cultivation and plant-care activities. Support plant care throughout propagation, vegetation, flowering, harvest, and post-harvest stages. Propagate clones from mother plants. Perform fertigation and irrigation activities. Support vegetative plant care. Support flowering plant care. Perform Integrated Pest Management (IPM) activities as assigned. Harvest cannabis plants. Support drying and curing of cannabis products for further processing. Clean, sanitize, and decontaminate cultivation areas, materials, equipment, and inputs. Physically and virtually move plants and cannabis inventory using required recordkeeping systems. Follow company procedures at critical control points including transfers, harvests, and waste processing. Maintain accurate production and compliance records. Operate tools, equipment, hardware, software, and systems used in commercial cannabis cultivation. Support Cultivation leadership with inventory audits and tracking of products, supplies, and materials. Follow company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety requirements, and compliance standards. Complete all required Cultivation, facility, safety, and compliance training. Communicate clearly with Cultivation team members and leadership regarding issues or concerns. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. Experience performing cannabis cultivation activities, particularly plant care and production plan fulfillment, preferred. Experience within the Massachusetts cannabis industry preferred. Experience using and maintaining cultivation tools, equipment, hardware, software, and related systems. Ability to identify and escalate issues involving cultivation, production, building, or environmental systems. Strong problem-solving skills, particularly related to plant health and environmental controls. Experience working in commercial agriculture, consumer goods manufacturing, or another highly regulated environment is a plus. Familiarity with Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission requirements, OSHA requirements, City of Lowell requirements, ServSafe, or similar standards is a plus. Organized and detail-oriented. Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and consistently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to successfully complete required background checks. Ability to complete required training, including Responsible Vendor Training (RVT) and company Production policies and procedures. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Perform physical labor throughout an eight-hour shift. Regularly and repetitively bend, reach, grasp, and squat to access plants. Lift at least 65 pounds with or without assistance. Use pruners, shears, scales, and other tools requiring fine motor skills. Perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday. Work for extended periods in environments with high temperatures and humidity. Work around dust, allergens, water, plants, and organic materials. Work closely with other team members when operational or compliance activities require multiple employees.
