Planting help Betsy McKenzie Milton, MA Job Details Temporary $20 - $25 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits On-the-job training Qualifications Plant identification Outdoor work experience Power tools Hand tools Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Job Summary As of Sept. 15 or so, we are seeking a motivated and energetic Yard Worker to assist with temporary planting of a number of young trees, shrubs and native plants. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in landscaping, horticulture, and groundskeeping while working outdoors. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, physically capable of outdoor work, and committed to safety and quality. Duties Assist with planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscape elements according to project specifications Operate hand tools and power tools safely for planting, digging, trimming, and ground preparation Identify plants and assist with landscape maintenance routines to promote healthy growth Follow safety protocols diligently during all outdoor activities and equipment operation Requirements Prior outdoor work experience or background in landscaping or groundskeeping preferred, but not required Basic mechanical knowledge related to power tools and landscaping equipment operation Familiarity with plant identification, horticulture practices and organic gardening is a plus Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions Willingness to learn new skills related to landscape maintenance and plant care I need temporary help planting and will teach you how to properly plant and identify plants. We may use a weed eater or hand clippers in addition to digging holes and adding compost and mulch. Job begins Sept 15, or can negotiate date to suit.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 2.0 - 16.0 per week
