Job Description

Mary's Land Farm in Ellicott City, MD is looking for seasonal workers to join our strong team. We are located at 4979 Sheppard Lane. We are looking for hardworking people with a kind, friendly demeanor who will play an integral role in the successful operation of our farm festival season from September 1 till November 1. You could work with us for all or part of our season. Seasonal Workers for Mary's Land Farm offer additional support for festivals and events, especially during the fall season. Seasonal staff could also help with other events or needs year-round, such as birthday parties, private animal encounters, field trips, etc., depending on their skills, willingness, and availability of work. As a seasonal worker, you'll remain on our list of staff available. On the job training will take place the first 2 weeks of September and staff will be scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance.
Responsibilities may include:
Working admissions for events scanning in tickets and providing guests with helpful information about the farm and the event Being stationed around the farm to answer guest questions or help them navigate around the property Facilitate animal encounters for guests Overseeing main festival areas, willing to help Supervising activities such as animal petting and feeding, Megaslide, wagon rides, pumpkin patch, etc. Checking people out on a POS for items for purchase during events Working in the farm's retail store as a cashier or product stocker Assisting in the on site Inn with housekeeping and room turn overs Host or assist with animal encounters, tours, field trips, etc.

Ability to work on weekends

Have great initiative and a willingness to help guests Great interpersonal skills Ability to withstand working in the heat or cold Comfortable with or willing to learn how to work with farm animals Reliable transportation to and from work
Payment:
This position is paid hourly.
