Job Overview Equestrian operation in southern Maine seeks reliable, experienced person for daily horse care and farm jobs. The health, condition, and well-being of horses, along with the cleanliness and presentation of facility are critical in this role. This is a part-time job in ½ day shifts (7:30-12:30) including at least 2 weekends per month. Additional hours or overnight stays, outside of daily shift, are needed on occasion and will depend upon experience and range of skills. Morning chores include feeding and turnout of 10 horses; cleaning stalls and paddock areas, lunch hay, restocking grain and hay, water buckets and troughs; preparing evening feed and keeping the barn clean and orderly. Depending upon the day, job may may include coordination with veterinarians and farriers and general farm and property maintenance. Property responsibilities could include trimming fencelines, fence repair, garden upkeep, clearing brush and trails, sheep care, maintaining fencing, snow removal with tractor, operating farm machinery, harrowing arenas, assisting with hay making and hay stacking seasonally, and handling routine repairs. Requirements

• This is a physically demanding job in an outdoor position and requires working in all weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift bales of hay and sacks of grain/50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Minimum 3 years' experience employed in similar duties working with horses at a stable
• Basic handyman, groundskeeping, gardening, and tractor experience required
• Excellent communication skills & Excellent attention to detail
• Enjoy working effectively in a team environment
