Overview Join our dynamic team as an Artificial Insemination Technician, where you will play a vital role in advancing livestock breeding programs through expert artificial insemination procedures. You will be responsible for performing precise insemination techniques, managing breeding schedules, and maintaining high standards of animal welfare and biosecurity. Responsibilities Perform artificial insemination on dairy cattle (mostly holstein cows and heifers). Manage breeding schedules by coordinating with farm manager to optimize reproductive outcomes. Handle animals safely using appropriate restraint techniques to ensure both animal and technician safety during procedures. Operate farm machinery and equipment necessary for insemination processes and animal handling tasks. Assist with livestock management activities Collaborate with team members on managing breeding operations, maintaining detailed records of inseminations, genetics data, and reproductive performance metrics. Experience Prior experience in agriculture or farming environments with a focus on livestock handling and animal husbandry is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of animal artificial insemination techniques (required). Familiarity with livestock health management practices. Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery operation and maintenance is advantageous. Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and team lifting safely in a farm setting. Basic math skills for record keeping, data entry, and measurement tasks related to breeding operations. Position is flexible. Only requires a couple hours of work each day.
