Responsibilities Assist with breeding operations, including artificial insemination procedures and monitoring breeding schedules Support the farrowing process by preparing farrowing crates, assisting sows during labor, and providing post-farrowing care Monitor animal health and behavior, identifying signs of distress or illness promptly Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of animal housing areas to uphold biosecurity standards Handle livestock gently using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for animals and team members Perform routine tasks such as blood sampling, administering medications, and recording health data accurately Operate farm machinery safely for tasks like feed delivery, cleaning, and equipment maintenance Collaborate with team members to manage breeding schedules and ensure smooth workflow across farm operations Support team lifting efforts when handling large animals or equipment to prevent injury and promote safety Qualifications Previous experience or education in agriculture, livestock handling, or animal husbandry is highly desirable Knowledge of livestock health management practices and biosecurity protocols Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively as part of a team Familiarity with farm machinery operation and basic mechanical knowledge is a plus Strong animal handling skills with an understanding of restraint techniques and animal welfare standards Basic math skills for record keeping and medication calculations Experience with blood sampling or veterinary procedures is advantageous Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high standards of sanitation and safety Equine experience or background in farming environments will be considered beneficial Embark on a rewarding career where your passion for animals meets the excitement of farm life!
