Full Job Description:

Barn Cleaners are needed to remove old litter from barns, pressure wash barns and equipment, and disinfect barns and equipment. This job requires driving a skid steer loader, running a powered sweeper, running an industrial pressure washer, and using other cleaning related equipment. Knowledgeable equipment use is a must. Flock Managers are fully responsible for the health of the flocks they are assigned to as well as the general maintenance and cleanliness of their barns and equipment. This may include working with other team members to coordinate related work activities. They will direct and assist with the set up at our brooding and finish barns, including cleaning of the feeding and drinking water equipment. They will direct and help with tasks like washing, cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining equipment within our barns. B&F Managers assist with all poult placements, including at barns that they don't manage. They supervise poults within assigned barns to ensure proper turkey growing practices are followed. They are responsible for the overall care of the turkeys in their barn, including morning and evening wellness checks. They ensure farm facilities are well maintained and feed deliveries are received in a timely manner. B&F managers of finishing barns will participate in all mature bird load outs. They must execute decisions that are consistent with good turkey husbandry set forth by company policies. Qualified applicants will possess good work ethic, be a team player, and have a desire to work in an agricultural environment. Applicants must be physically able to lift 50 lbs, enjoy working with animals, record flock information, and work in a barn environment. Must also be required to follow all site-specific bio-security rules. Applicants must also be at least 18 years old, have a driver's license with a good driving record, and have personal transportation to get to and from work. Experience raising animals and using farm related machinery helpful, but not required. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Responsibilities:

• Flock health, flock management. Participate in and help manage poult deliveries and mature bird load out.
• Manage the environmental condition of the turkeys under your care seeing that all details necessary for maximizing turkey performances are carried out on a consistent basis; prime importance is water, feed, litter, and ventilation.
• After each flock, assist with and direct cleaning, washing, scraping, disinfecting of all equipment and proper storage of same and spreading of new litter. This must be accomplished in a cohesive, team-like, least-cost approach.
• Set up the buildings prior to the arrival of poults and care for such poults form the time of their arrival until they are loaded out following the prescribed policies and procedures as outlined by management.
• On the day of the move of poults to finish barn, assist and help supervise the move.
• Be responsible to see that sanitation programs and procedures set down by company policies are executed by yourself and those people entering your barn.
• General maintenance and simple repairs of equipment in your barn is your responsibility.
• Ensure your barn is as clean and neat as possible.
• Supervise the work of those people sent to your barn to help with specific tasks.
• Direct activities of the relief people coming into your barn to relieve you during your time off. Prepare a list of duties for them to follow and perform in your absence.
• Manage farm work on a regularly scheduled basis within parameters set forth by corporate policies.
• Maintain farm records accurately on a consistent basis.
• Maintain a safe working environment for all personnel working in your barn.
• Assure your area of responsibility complies with all Damart Turkeys company policies, procedures, and programs.

Experience Needed /

Suggested:

• Must be willing to work weekends and be on call as needed.
• Must have a clean driving record. Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Able to travel to company locations as needed.
• Must be able to: walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time, lift 50 pounds, able to exert 60 - 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to function independently.
• Handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Display strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills.
• Possess good supervisory skills based on experience, schooling, or training.
