Irrigation Technician Summary of Position:
Southview is hiring an Irrigation Technician. The Irrigation Technician position is responsible for maintaining and repairing irrigation systems including replacing valves, fan belts, switches, and contacts, etc.in a safe and efficient manner, while exceeding customer expectations in quality and service.
Duties:
Communicate with Business Manager, sales team, and others to ensure a high level of communication, exceptional quality standards, and efficient job performance is consistently met. Ensure daily administrative tasks (i.e. inventory tracking, time entry, DOT pre-trip, etc.) are completed promptly and accurately. Know all company procedures, safety, and personnel policies and ensure crew adheres to policies. Perform all irrigation maintenance and repair tasks including identifying water sources, locating isolation valves, replacing, and adjusting irrigation heads, programing irrigation schedule. Estimate cost of services and help sales team sell work to increase productivity and revenue dollars of irrigation division Evaluate and document start-ups, winterization, and overall operation of the irrigation system in irrigation software program to provide communication to client. Monitor service schedule timelines, adjust schedules as needed. Communicate with Business Manager about any delay in service, incident during service, or quality control to ensure proper notification to client Ensure work area is kept clean and organized, maintain a clean truck/trailer and uniform. Maintain and properly store equipment. Ability to perform seasonal snow and ice removal tasks during winter months. Plowing, shoveling, salt applications, and various other duties as assigned. Supervise or manage areas/zones as desired with direction from snow management team. Additional duties as assigned. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time.
Education:
Highschool Diploma or equivalent. A Bachelors or associate degree in Horticulture or related fields of study is preferred.
Experience Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Landscape Water Management Operations. Should be self-motivated and able to work independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Time management skills. Creative problem solving, organization skills. Must have a valid driver's license, and an insurable driving record. Bilingual -Spanish a plus.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site. Requires extended periods of activity including, walking, standing, kneeling, bending and lifting, up to 100% of a workday. Time in the field-100% of time.
Working Environment:
Employee is frequently exposed to exterior elements (i.e. pollen, chemicals, cold and heat etc.). Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
