A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.
The Weed Foreperson oversees, coordinates, and trains the seasonal weed crew engaged in the control of noxious weeds by applying herbicides according to specifications along county roads, and county parks; responsible for the development and implementation of educational programs; performs other related duties as required. Education/Experience/Training:
Associate degree in environmental science, Ecology, Botany, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, or a related field; and One (1) years' experience in vegetation control, weed identification, and training; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling three (3) years.
Required:
Must pass a criminal and driving background check and meet any County-specific employment eligibility standards.
Certifications:
Valid driver's license issued by the State of Montana; Montana Government Applicator License through the Department of Agriculture, or the ability to obtain license within the six (6) month probationary period.
