Full-time About Grizzly Pine Grizzly Pine is a licensed, vertically integrated cannabis operation in Montana spanning cultivation, extraction, manufacturing, and retail distribution. We are commissioning a new commercial greenhouse cultivation facility in the Kalispell area — a four-bay, environmentally controlled greenhouse with automated fertigation and climate control. This is a ground-floor role. The person in this seat will help bring a brand-new facility online and will own how it runs from day one. Position Summary The Greenhouse Cultivation Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the greenhouse facility — plant health, crop scheduling, environmental control, fertigation, IPM, compliance, and the crew who executes it. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be in the rooms, in the canopy, and in the data. Success in this role looks like consistent, high-quality harvests delivered on schedule, a clean facility with no pest or pathogen events, accurate compliance records, and a crew that knows what to do without being told twice. Core Responsibilities Crop Production Own the full crop cycle in the greenhouse: propagation, vegetative growth, flowering, harvest, and turnaround Maintain crop schedules and ensure rooms are turned on time to hit production targets Manage mother stock and clone production to keep the pipeline consistently supplied Monitor plant health daily and adjust cultural practices to correct issues before they affect yield or quality Track and report yield, quality metrics, and cycle performance Environmental Control Operate and manage the greenhouse climate control system, including temperature, humidity, VPD, CO2, and supplemental lighting Manage light deprivation and blackout systems to maintain photoperiod integrity Monitor and respond to environmental alarms, including outside normal business hours when conditions require it Work with the Production Director to tune environmental setpoints seasonally, accounting for Montana's temperature and light swings Irrigation and Fertigation Manage the fertigation program: recipe formulation, EC and pH targets, injection ratios, and irrigation scheduling Monitor runoff volume, EC, and pH; adjust irrigation strategy to control leach fraction Maintain irrigation infrastructure, including emitters, lines, filters, and injection equipment Support wastewater sampling, containment, and recordkeeping obligations tied to the facility's discharge requirements Integrated Pest Management Own the facility IPM program: scouting, thresholds, biological controls, and treatment decisions Maintain strict facility biosecurity, including quarantine protocols for incoming genetics Conduct and document pathogen testing on mother stock, including HLVd screening Keep complete application records for all inputs Team Leadership Directly supervise cultivation staff; assign daily tasks and hold the crew accountable to standards Train new team members on SOPs, safety, and compliance requirements Build and maintain written SOPs for all recurring cultivation tasks Manage labor scheduling around crop workload peaks, particularly harvest and turnaround Compliance and Recordkeeping Maintain accurate plant tracking in Metrc, including tagging, movement, waste, and harvest records Ensure the facility remains inspection-ready at all times Follow all Montana Cannabis Control Division regulations and internal SOPs Maintain cultivation logs, environmental records, and input application records Required Qualifications Three or more years of commercial cultivation experience, with at least one year in a lead, supervisor, or head grower capacity Demonstrated experience running a full crop cycle start to finish with consistent results Working knowledge of fertigation: EC, pH, nutrient recipes, injection systems, and irrigation strategy Practical IPM experience, including scouting, biological controls, and pest identification Comfortable operating environmental control systems and interpreting sensor data Able to obtain and maintain a Montana cannabis worker credential Able to work a schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and occasional after-hours response to facility alarms Able to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders, and tolerate greenhouse conditions including heat, humidity, and extended time on your feet Preferred Qualifications Greenhouse experience specifically, as opposed to indoor-only — light deprivation, seasonal environmental swings, and supplemental lighting management Experience commissioning a new facility or bringing new rooms online Familiarity with Wadsworth, Argus, Priva, or comparable greenhouse control platforms Metrc experience Degree in horticulture, plant science, agronomy, or a related field Experience with HLVd testing and tissue culture or clean-stock programs Bilingual English/Spanish What We're Actually Looking For We can teach systems.
