A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description

The Cultivation Technician will assist with the growth and maintenance of cannabis plants in an indoor agricultural environment. The Cultivation Technician is responsible for observing plants throughout the growth cycle to ensure plants are healthy, and accurate records of plant care are kept. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees and maintains plants through all growth cycles.
  • Assists with watering plants and regulating plant environmental conditions.
  • Maintains plants through defoliating and trimming live plants.
  • Monitors plants for signs of pests or other damaging conditions.
  • Assists with moving plants between rooms when necessary.
  • Ensures health of plants by reducing cross-contamination and stress to plants.
  • Maintains certifications as required by the work site, state, and federal regulations.
  • Complies with cleanliness and safety standards as required by each facility. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of horticulture.
  • Knowledge of cannabis regulatory compliance and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations. Skills
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; including the ability to strategically provide written and verbal direction effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to positively influence team members.
  • Basic understanding of environmental control systems, including temperature and humidity regulation.
  • Adaptability to changes in environment, cultivation techniques, industry regulations, and industry best practices. Abilities
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to retain attention during monotonous or repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to bend, lift and stoop for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to plant allergens and bright light.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
