A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description

Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Head Grower, the Section Grower will play a vital role in the day-to-day care of our crop production which consists of determining irrigation needs, scouting for insects and disease, and maintaining a clean work environment. This is a physically active, detail-oriented position with a genuine learning curve, and it calls for good horticultural judgment and reliable follow-through.
The Ideal Candidate:
An established horticultural background is preferred but not required; candidates should be prepared to build proficiency quickly once training is complete. Motivated and willing to take on repetitive, physically active tasks on a daily basis, even without prior growing experience. Comfortable working extended shifts on your feet in a hot, humid greenhouse environment, where getting wet is a routine part of the job. Reliable and safety-conscious, with good judgment and sound decision-making.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform essential plant care tasks including irrigation, fertilization, pH checks, and pest/disease identification to support plant growth and scheduling. Report any issues related to plant health or crop performance in a timely and accurate manner. Take on additional duties as assigned by the Head Grower, including tasks that may arise on short notice. Work a varied schedule that includes weekend rotations and extended hours during peak season. Physically active work throughout each shift.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Strong technological skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently and as a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is a hands-on role well suited to someone who wants to grow within our company and build meaningful horticultural expertise over time.
