What they do
A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily assignments and priorities assigned by supervisor to maintain top health and quality of plants in your assigned area. Ensuring all necessary steps are taken to maintain top quality plants.
- Perform tasks such as planting, watering, fertilizing, and pruning.
- Monitor plant health, identify and address any pests, issues, or diseases.
- Operate and maintain irrigation systems and other equipment.
- Stay up to date on all training, as well as follow and enforce all safety policies and practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with and support other departments and managers, working as a team to accomplish a common goal. Job Requirements
- Minimum of two years of working in a greenhouse environment is required.
- Basic math skills for measuring and mixing fertilizers and other materials required.
- Ability to retain mechanical understandings to operate and maintain equipment.
- Familiarity with hand tools used in gardening and farming.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physical environment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
