Position Overview:

Fox Chase Farm is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to care for livestock on weekends and holidays. This hands-on role involves caring for large animals and supporting general farm maintenance. The ideal candidate will be reliable, compassionate about animal care, and able to work independently outdoors in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Feed and care for livestock including cows, pigs, sheep, goats, and donkeys Monitor animal health and report any concerns Maintain clean, safe, and organized animal housing areas Operate basic farm equipment (e.g., tractors, power tools, mowers) Support general groundskeeping and seasonal tasks as needed Assist with greenhouse or farm education projects as available

Ideal Candidate:

Has direct experience handling and caring for large animals Self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions Familiar with basic farm operations, hand tools, and power equipment Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team Knowledge of equine care or greenhouse management is a plus

Pay Structure:

$88.40 per 6-hour day $44.21 per 3-hour day Please note compensation is nonnegotiable and set per the School District of Philadelphia on a per diem basis.
