What you will have an opportunity to do: We are looking for a someone who loves to work with mechanical equipment, who is highly motivated, and detail oriented to join our team as an Irrigation Technician! In this role, you will play a key part in creating a world-class experience for our guests! You will make major and minor repairs on a variety of irrigation systems throughout the resort. The Irrigation Technician ensures that all the equipment is operationally sound, properly serviced as necessary and working as intended. You will be working closely with different members of our team, so you will need to be quick on your feet and have an engaging attitude. : Serves as front line member of a team responsible for performing maintenance activities for the golf course. Primary area of emphasis surrounds maintenance and operation of resort irrigation systems. At times, this position may also be assigned to park grounds, roadsides, landscaping, facilities, and equipment.QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORKEXPERIENCE 2
Years of Experience in Golf Course or Grounds Maintenance and/or Landscaping is required. AAS Degree in Horticulture, Turfgrass Management, or related field is required. Experience may be substituted. Knowledge of game of golf is helpful. Proven leadership qualities. Experienced with Rainbird, Cirrus Pro irrigation systems. Knowledge of basic electrical and hydraulic operations of irrigation. Ability to communicate in written and oral forms. Ability to work independently and in team setting. Ability to interact well with others in a professional manner. Ability to operate a variety of small equipment and hand tools in safe manner. Ability to adjust and learn new equipment and procedures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Must be well groomed. Dress requirements include assigned uniform with nametag. Uniform and nametag must be worn at all times while working on the property.
- Must be well-mannered, greet guests and employees when encountered, and show appreciation to the guest for being at the resort, show willingness to help guests and employees at all times.
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs golf course irrigation system, including valve-in-head sprinklers, valves, quick couplers, valves, radio control system, and field controllers. Performs routine operational checks on irrigation system. Make repairs in professional manner.
- Programs irrigation system for operation. Uses remote control system.
- Maintains irrigation repair logs. Prepares and places parts orders.
- Hand waters greens, tees, and fairways.
- Will be assigned responsibility for leading small group of other team members to achieve high quality results in an efficient manner.
- Uses walking and riding greens mower, tee mower, fairway mower, rough mower, roller, bunker rake, carts, push mowers, and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools to maintain golf course grounds and landscaping. Cleans and maintains equipment that is used. Treats all equipment with care and respect. Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Sets cups and move tee markers.
- Installs, cleans, and repairs drainage.
- Performs light custodial operations on golf course grounds and buildings, i.e. cleaning and stocking restrooms, sweeping stones from paths, trash collection, mopping floors, etc. Uses mops and brooms.
- Reports problems encountered on site to supervisor immediately. Takes appropriate steps to address emergency situations.
- Paints and maintains buildings. Performs light carpentry work, as needed.
- Participates in snow removal processes. May require evening and nighttime work in poor weather conditions.
- Plants flowers, shrubs, trees, landscaping, and sod.
TYPICAL SCHEDULE
In Season- Tuesday through Thursday from 6AM until 4:30PM. Friday/Saturday OR Sunday/Monday from 6AM to 11AM. Holidays required. Overtime with and without notice. Out of Season
- Monday though Friday from 7AM until 3:30PM.
