GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will be supporting the GRD
- Grounds department at Greenville Technical College.
Duties may include any or all of the following. Operate all lawn care and landscaping equipment in an experience and professional manner. Maintain equipment as indicated by manufacturer, and perform routine maintenance as needed. Maintain trees, shrubs and other plant material by trimming, pruning, cutting and other means necessary to maintain the health and appearance of the college's ornamental plants and trees. Coordinate and participate in applying fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides in the control of pests, and weeds. All applications are to follow label instructions, and containers will be disposed of properly. Maintain daily spray schedule. Monitor college property for debris, litter, trash, and dispose of properly. Maintain hard surface areas to be free of limbs, leaves, and debris. Routinely inspect college property for aberrations such as cracks and pot holes and report to supervisor Perform installations and repairs regarding campus irrigation systems. Monitor and maintain irrigation control systems for optimal conservation of water. Provide labor and supervision for projects and renovations, assist other departments as needed. Meet with outside vendors to assist with scheduled activities. Assist with college event setups and breakdowns. Perform other duties as assigned. Serve on hiring committees as necessary. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, on-the-job training, and/or demonstrated knowledge related to the area of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 5
