Job Description

Job Overview This role supports daily plant care and nursery operations. Typical duties include watering, pruning, transplanting, potting, labeling, and monitoring plant health. Associates help customers, manage inventory, unload deliveries, and keep the nursery clean and organized. The role requires basic plant knowledge, physical stamina, attention to detail, and a willingness to work outdoors in varied weather. Strong communication skills are imperative for assisting customers and teammates. Previous nursery or retail experience is helpful, but often optional, since on-the-job training is common. Responsibilities Assist with planting, watering, pruning, and transplanting plants to ensure healthy growth and vibrant displays Support irrigation systems setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting to keep plants properly hydrated Use hand tools and mechanical equipment safely for soil preparation, planting, and maintenance tasks Identify different plant species and monitor their health, reporting any issues such as pests or disease Help with greenhouse operations including seed starting, propagation, and climate control management Perform outdoor work such as lawn care, landscaping tasks, and heavy lifting of plants or materials as needed Maintain cleanliness of work areas, tools, and equipment to promote safety and efficiency Skills Growing experience or familiarity with horticulture practices preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, greenhouse operations, and land management techniques Mechanical knowledge for operating gardening machinery and hand tools safely Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during outdoor work or when handling plants and materials Good understanding of basic math for measurements related to planting and spacing tasks Outgoing attitude with a passion for gardening, landscaping, agriculture or outdoor work environments This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to gain practical experience in nursery operations while contributing to the beauty of outdoor spaces. Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
