Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Vibrance Health Farm Worker is responsible for assisting with the daily operations and maintenance of the organization's farm, greenhouse, gardens, and agricultural facilities. This position performs a variety of tasks related to planting, harvesting, greenhouse production, livestock care, grounds maintenance, equipment operation, and general facility upkeep. The Farm Worker helps ensure the farm remains productive, safe, clean, and visually appealing while supporting the organization's mission of promoting healthy food production and community wellness.JOB DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the farm, greenhouse, gardens, and agricultural facilities.
- Plant, cultivate, water, fertilize, prune, weed, harvest, and monitor the health of crops, flowers, and other plants using traditional and hydroponic growing methods.
- Perform general grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, tree care, and maintaining walkways and outdoor work areas.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to farm buildings, greenhouses, equipment, irrigation systems, and other facilities, including light carpentry, painting, and construction projects.
- Operate and maintain farm equipment, lawn equipment, hand tools, and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load, unload, transport, organize, and store equipment, supplies, and harvested produce while maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
- Monitor inventory of farm supplies and report maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Follow all organizational safety policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in farming, agriculture, greenhouse operations, landscaping, or ground maintenance preferred.
- Experience operating lawn, farm, or maintenance equipment and using hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, plant care, livestock care, and general facility maintenance, including minor carpentry and repairs, is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and reach for extended periods.
- Work outdoors in heat, humidity, cold, rain, and other weather conditions.
- Ability to operate power equipment safely.
- Ability to work in greenhouse environments with elevated temperatures.
