Job Description

Number of available positions: 2 High school diploma or GED required. Must possess (or obtain within six months of attaining position) a Landscape Irrigator license granted by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Valid Texas Driver's License is required. Preferred but not required Texas Commercial Driver's License, Class A, with tank vehicle endorsement. One year working experience required in irrigation systems.
Must have:
knowledge of all park and municipal lands which contain irrigation systems; working knowledge of all types of irrigation systems operated by the city; knowledge of methods of repair for irrigation controllers, control tubes, wires, and PVC pipe; knowledge of repairs or installation of all types of valves; ability to read irrigation plans and take verbal and written instructions. Must be able to supervise a small crew effectively. Must be able to evaluate and repair hydraulic irrigation systems.
