The Role We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Cannabis Plant Tissue Culture Technician. This entry-level position is perfect for someone passionate about plant science and eager to learn about cannabis cultivation through advanced tissue culture techniques. No prior experience in tissue culture is required; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.

Responsibilities Aseptic Technique:

Perform all tasks in a sterile environment using aseptic techniques to prevent contamination.

Media Preparation:

Accurately prepare nutrient media for various stages of plant tissue culture, including initiation, multiplication, and rooting.

Plant Propagation:

Assist in the micropropagation of cannabis plants, including explant preparation, subculturing, and acclimatization of plantlets.

Documentation:

Maintain meticulous records of all experiments, observations, and inventory.

Equipment Maintenance:

Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment and glassware.

Problem Solving:

Identify and troubleshoot common tissue culture issues, such as contamination or poor growth.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, especially those related to handling cannabis and laboratory chemicals.

Team Collaboration:

Work effectively as part of a team to achieve production goals and maintain a high standard of quality. Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills High school diploma or equivalent. A strong interest in plant science, horticulture, or botany. Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity. Ability to follow instructions precisely and work independently when necessary. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work in a sterile environment for extended periods. Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping. Must be at least 21 years of age Preferred (But Not Required) Coursework in biology, chemistry, horticulture, or a related field. Experience with microscopy. Physical Demands Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive tasks with hands and fingers. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to work in a laboratory environment with controlled temperature and humidity.
