Job Position:
Agronomy & Fertilizer Assistant Location:
Cashton, WI Pay:
Approximately $19-$28 per hour, based on experience
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday-Friday with additional hours and potential Saturdays during peak seasons

Work directly with area farmers to support their crop and fertilizer needs Build practical knowledge of fertilizer products, formulations, and organic agriculture Combine customer service, sales, order coordination, and hands-on agricultural work Develop trusted relationships with a diverse agricultural customer base Gain opportunities to expand into seed management and other agricultural operations Grow with a company that values practical knowledge, adaptability, and customer service What You'll Do Support the daily operation of the fertilizer division Work directly with farmers to understand their crop and fertilizer needs Assist with fertilizer recommendations and formulations Work with N-P-K analysis and other fertilizer information Support organic farming practices and fertilizer products Develop and maintain strong relationships with area farmers Communicate with customers by phone and during in-person farm visits Assist with fertilizer sales, pricing, and customer service Enter, organize, and track customer orders Monitor outstanding orders and follow through to ensure customer needs are met Maintain accurate records of pricing, orders, customer activity, and completed work Coordinate fertilizer needs during high-volume growing seasons Potentially assist with seed products and seed management Support other areas of the agricultural operation as needed Collaborate with office and operational staff as business needs change What We're Looking For Candidates with a range of agricultural backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to apply.
Relevant experience may include:
Agronomy Fertilizer Crop production Organic agriculture Seed Farm operations Agricultural sales Cooperative, feed, or farm-supply operations Hands-on farming Additional qualifications include: An understanding of crop production and soil fertility concepts is preferred Familiarity with fertilizer formulations and N-P-K analysis is preferred A strong interest in agriculture and working directly with farmers The ability to build trusted customer relationships Strong organizational and follow-through skills Comfort using computers to track orders, pricing, and customer information The ability to manage a high volume of activity during busy seasons A willingness to visit farms and work outside a traditional office environment A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for required travel Experience with organic agriculture is highly desirable but is not required for candidates with the right agricultural foundation and willingness to learn. This position does not primarily involve chemical spraying or pesticide application. Work Environment This is not strictly a desk-based agronomy position.
The role may include:
Office and computer work Customer and farmer conversations Sales and order coordination Farm visits Fertilizer operations Seasonal agricultural work The employer works with a diverse group of area farmers, including a significant Amish customer base. The ability to build relationships through direct, practical communication is important. Agriculture is seasonal, and fertilizer operations become particularly busy during planting and growing seasons. Additional hours and Saturday work may be required during peak periods. Seasonal workloads may be balanced with different responsibilities and scheduling during slower periods.
