Job Description Summary:
Farm supervisor needs to have strong leadership and communication skills. Experience is the primary factor in landing a job as a poultry farm supervisor, but college courses or a degree in a relevant field, such as agricultural business or animal science, is recommended.
Job Description:
Ensures the safety and efficiency of poultry farm operations Prioritizes tasks and decides on the necessary amount of machinery and number of workers Records data and creates reports on worker attendance, budget, supplies and animal growth Assigns duties to farm workers and ensures that they are carried out in an efficient manner Oversees the machinery that performs certain tasks, such as egg collection Trains new workers, providing care to injured or ill livestock, and enforcing workplace sanitation practices to prevent the spread of disease
Job Qualifications:
BS in Poultry Science or related field or 5 years poultry experience Ability to work well with others Breeder and pullet experience with background in vaccination, farm clean-outs, as well as farms and vehicle maintenance Ability to work flexible hours- on call 24 hours a day Must be a self-motivator with the ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency Current driver's license Good communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills Team-oriented Leadership skills Ability to effectively communicate and motivate associates Accepting responsibility and working toward goals, company/departmental/and individual Computer application skills with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
