Job Description Job Description:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy operation located in Florida who is searching for an experienced Herdsman to assist in overseeing daily herd management and employee activities. Responsibilities include supervising employees, monitoring herd health and reproductive performance, managing breeding programs, overseeing cattle movements, and maintaining accurate herd records. The Herdsman will work closely with management, veterinarians, and nutritionists to support milk production, cow comfort, and overall herd performance. Additional responsibilities include monitoring fresh and hospital cows, coordinating hoof trimming schedules, and ensuring established protocols and animal welfare standards are consistently followed. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys working with both cattle and people while contributing to the success of a progressive dairy operation.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of dairy herd management experience on a large commercial dairy
  • Strong leadership and employee management skills
  • Experience with herd health, reproduction, and breeding programs
  • Working knowledge of DairyComp 305 or similar herd management software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking employees
