Job Description
Assistant Farm Manager Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Farm Manager to support the daily operations of our farm. This role involves overseeing various aspects of farm management, assisting with animal care, and ensuring efficient farm practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in farm and equine experience, along with manual handling skills, to contribute to the smooth running of our farm activities. Responsibilities Assist in the day-to-day management of farm operations, including overseeing staff and coordinating tasks. Support the care and management of livestock, with a particular focus on equine animals. Participate in feeding, grooming, and health checks for animals to ensure their well-being. Help with manual handling tasks such as moving equipment, livestock, or feed supplies safely and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and organization across farm facilities, including stables and storage areas. Assist in implementing health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and animals. Support maintenance and minor repairs of farm equipment and infrastructure as needed. Contribute to record keeping related to animal health, feeding schedules, and other operational activities. Requirements Proven experience working on farms, with specific experience in equine management preferred. Strong manual handling skills with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks safely. Knowledge of farm operations, animal husbandry, and safety procedures. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle livestock responsibly. Good organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative when necessary. Valid relevant certifications or licenses related to farm or animal management are advantageous but not mandatory.
