Job Description
Roper Farm is a family farm located in Kimberly Idaho. Roper Farm, formerly "Magic Valley Pork" was established in 1988. The Reproduction Manager position will oversee all breeding tasks on a weekly basis for a 2500 hog operation (500 Sows). This is a hands-on Management position with a special emphasis on swine breeding. Roper Farm is a diversified endeavor that includes 160 acres of farm ground, the hog farm, 60 head of cattle, and a custom liquid manure pumping business. The right candidate will be able to assist in each of these efforts. This role has opportunity for growth. Reproduction Manager Responsibilities Oversee farm, Animals, and Equipment Collect and process boar semen Breed a minimum of 25 sows each week Maintain accurate production records Oversee daily feeding and chores Implement best practices Maintain vaccination schedule Monitor swine health Monitor condition of farm equipment Ensure equipment is maintained and in working order Farm Manager Qualifications 2+ years farm management experience required swine experience preferred People management experience preferred Ability to carry 50-70 lbs. required Spanish fluency a plus
