POSITION DESCRIPTION

The person that works as the Assistant Cooler Manager shall fulfill a role that is equally as crucial for survival in the egg industry as that of the Cooler Manager. This person will help maintain the inventory and organizing the daily movement of eggs out of the cooler. The Assistant Manager will fulfill the role of the Cooler or Freezer Manager should they be absent. Finally, the Assistant Manager will perform duties in an exemplary and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsible for assisting the Cooler Manager in maintaining the cooler. Responsible for assisting the manager in checking orders to ensure that all customer requests are filled before being loaded onto the trucks for shipment. Responsible for unloading and loading trucks as necessary. Responsible for assisting the manager in ensuring quality control procedures are followed in the cooler. Responsible for checking that all skids in the cooler are properly labeled. Responsible for assisting the manager with necessary inventory paperwork on the computer. Responsible for assisting the freezer personnel in loading and moving frozen product that is in the inventory. (Only applicable at your farm). Must be able to operate power jack and forklift. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Responsible for filling out the egg sign out and inventory sheets and faxing them to the office daily. Responsible for communicating with the sales dept. and transport dept. daily on organizing egg loads and transfers to customers in the timeliest manner possible. Responsible for sending bill of lading sheets to the main office daily whenever egg loads are moved in/out of the facility. Responsible for general management of the cooler area, and ensuring that all other cooler and freezer personnel follow Rose Acre policy.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

High School diploma is required - basic communication and math skills are highly desired. Capable of performing multiple tasks at once - maintaining inventory, unloading and loading trucks, filling out invoices etc. Capable of working in an environment that may be physically demanding (extreme temperature differences, moderate walking throughout the day etc.) Ability to maintain an egg inventory accurately, and see to it that all shipments are properly documented. Ability to work long hours if needed to get the job completed (staying late to load trucks etc.) Capable of operating various machines within the facility - general mechanical experience is highly desirable. Capable of working as a "team" and fulfilling his or her role on the cooler team to ensure that eggs are moved as efficiently as possible. Capable of working a flexible schedule - including some weekend work, overtime work, and occasional holidays at management's discretion. Capable of filling in when employees in the cooler are absent, miss or take vacations. Capable of ensuring that USDA and Rose Acre quality control standards are followed within the cooler. Capable of ensuring that all safety standards are followed in the facility, and that all accidents are properly documented. Capable of treating all coworkers, Rose Acre Farms drivers, outside carriers, and customers with respect.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres. Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed. Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting. Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
