Daily Care Responsible for maintaining bird health Running manure belts weekly and maintaining proper equipment care. Must work a rotating weekend schedule. When chicks are placed, must do nightly chick checks. The number of days doing nightly chick checks depends on the chick health and placement. Managers are required to work that weekend also. Walk birds in each house daily. Day shift on a regular routine. Sometimes during loading or chick checks manager will be asked to work different or additional hours based on the job task at hand. Maintain adequate record keeping within the house.

Examples:

Mice bait stations, fly cards, daily checks, etc. On weekends that manager is scheduled to work, they must walk and check barns at other sites. Managers are expected to learn barn systems to properly maintain and fix issues as they happen. Managers are expected to be available for alarm calls once they have become acclimated with proper barn systems and controls. If manager is assigned an assistant manager, they are to oversee the assistant and properly allocate job responsibilities while working as a team. Maintain clean working environment within the control rooms and the barn. Animal Care Experience Ability to work a rotating weekend schedule Previous experience in record keeping Strong communication skills Must not own or work with poultry outside of employment at River View Farms This position is responsible for the daily care and health of birds, including conducting daily barn walkthroughs, performing chick checks during new placements, operating manure belts, maintaining records, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. The manager works primarily on day shift but must participate in a rotating weekend schedule, respond to alarm calls, and adjust hours as needed during chick placements, loading, or other critical farm activities. Additional responsibilities include monitoring multiple farm sites on assigned weekends, learning and maintaining barn systems and equipment, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. If assigned an assistant manager, this role also includes supervising and delegating responsibilities while fostering teamwork and operational efficiency.
