Job Summary We are seeking a dependable, experienced, and motivated assistant farm manager for our row crop operation. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working in agriculture, operating equipment, and taking responsibility for day-to-day farm operations. Duties Operate and oversee planting, tillage, spraying, fertilizer application, harvesting, and equipment Coordinate daily field operations during planting, spraying, and harvest Properly mix, load, and apply crop protection products according to product labels and application requirements Perform routine maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on tractors, combines, sprayers, planters, trucks, and other farm equipment Identify equipment problems and coordinate larger repairs when necessary Haul grain, seed, fertilizer, equipment, and other farm materials as needed Oversee and help coordinate seasonal and full-time employees Monitor field conditions and help determine appropriate timing for planting, spraying, harvesting, and other field operations Communicate regularly with farm ownership regarding crop conditions, equipment needs, employee needs, and daily operations Assist with grain handling and storage Perform other farm-related duties as needed throughout the year Requirements Previous row-crop farming experience Experience operating modern agricultural equipment Knowledge of corn and soybean production Understanding of planting, spraying, fertility, weed management, and harvest operations Mechanical ability and experience maintaining and repairing farm equipment Ability to troubleshoot problems and make sound decisions independently Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to supervise and work effectively with other employees A valid driver's license and good driving record Ability and willingness to work longer hours during planting and harvest seasons This position is best suited for someone who wants more responsibility than a traditional farm-hand or equipment-operator position. We want someone who takes pride in the farm, notices when something needs to be done, and can make day-to-day decisions without needing constant direction. The right person will be expected to become a key part of the operation and someone we can trust to help manage the farm when ownership is not present. This is a hands-on position. The Assistant Farm Manager will spend significant time operating equipment, working in the shop, and working alongside other employees—not simply supervising from an office. Pay:

$40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
