Job Description

A rapidly growing and innovative controlled environment agriculture company is seeking an experienced Head Grower to lead greenhouse growing operations and drive world-class crop performance. This is a unique opportunity for a horticultural leader who is passionate about plant science, greenhouse technology, sustainable agriculture, and developing high-performing teams. The Head Grower will oversee all aspects of crop cultivation, environmental controls, irrigation and fertility programs, integrated pest management, production planning, and growing team leadership. This position plays a critical role in delivering exceptional product quality, maximizing yields, and supporting continued operational growth. Key Responsibilities Lead all greenhouse crop production activities from propagation through harvest. Manage environmental controls and climate strategies to optimize crop health, quality, and yield. Oversee irrigation, fertility, and water management systems. Develop and execute integrated pest management (IPM) programs and disease prevention strategies. Evaluate and trial new crop varieties while utilizing data-driven decision making. Collaborate with Operations, Production, and Commercial teams to align growing plans with business objectives. Develop, coach, and lead growers and growing personnel to achieve operational excellence. Create crop forecasts and production plans to support customer demand and business growth. Ensure compliance with food safety, employee safety, and regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, and sustainability. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Plant Sciences, Agriculture, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of four years of experience in high-tech greenhouse production. Previous leadership experience managing growers and cultivation teams. Strong knowledge of greenhouse climate management, irrigation systems, plant nutrition, and crop health. Experience with automated greenhouse control systems, including Priva or similar platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Pay:
$130,000.00 - $188,000.00 per year
