Position Summary The Cultivation Manager is responsible for the full cultivation department, including propagation, nursery, greenhouse, irrigation, integrated pest management (IPM), harvest coordination, and compliance oversight. This role ensures optimal plant health, production efficiency, regulatory adherence, and effective team performance while maintaining strict compliance with all applicable state, local, employment laws and company regulations all while contributing to fostering a safe and welcoming workplace environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Directly supervise cultivation staff across all production phases Direct planting, cloning, vegetative growth, flowering, and harvesting cycles. Diagnoses and treats mold, mildew, and pest infestations using integrated pest management. Maintains accurate inventory logs and standard operating procedures to meet New Mexico state cannabis laws. Address employee relations matters, including coaching, disciplinary action, and termination processes in compliance with company policy and labor laws Approve timecards, enforce attendance standards, and manage scheduling Lead daily operational meetings and ongoing team training Enforce adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Other duties as assigned Cultivation Operations Oversight Assist in managing propagation including cutting schedules, mother plant maintenance, clone tracking, transplanting, and inventory control Assist in overseeing nursery and greenhouse environmental conditions (airflow, humidity, climate systems) Supervise irrigation systems, fertilizer preparation, nutrient regimens, and crop steering strategies Monitor plant spacing, pruning, trellising, canopy management, and plant manipulation Ensure proper sanitation practices throughout all cultivation phases Coordinate reload planning and crop scheduling (Sativa, Hybrid, Indica allocations) Integrated Pest Management & Compliance Develop and implement IPM strategies and preventative spray programs Schedule pesticide applications and ensure proper PPE usage Maintain required applicator licensing and regulatory documentation Monitor pest pressures, disease, and nutrient deficiencies Maintain accurate and compliant spray records Ensure full compliance with seed-to-sale tracking systems, plant tagging, digital records, and regulatory reporting Harvest & Quality Oversight Develop harvest projections and communicate updates to executive leadership Identify and document problematic batches (e.g., pest damage, mold, density concerns) Coordinate harvest readiness, staffing, and execution Ensure accurate wet weight tracking and documentation Oversee post-harvest sanitation and compliance procedures Manage laboratory sample collection and documentation Reporting & Cross-Department Coordination Maintain environmental logs, irrigation data, and runoff sampling records Monitor inventory levels for nutrients, media, PPE, and cultivation supplies Communicate operational updates in weekly cultivation meetings Collaborate with post-harvest, compliance, and accounting departments Qualifications & requirements Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, Agronomy, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience will be considered Minimum of 3 years of experience in cultivation or horticultural production, greenhouse operations, or controlled environment in agriculture Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management role with direct responsibility for employee oversight, hiring, performance management, and disciplinary processes Demonstrated experience with irrigation systems, nutrient management, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs Experience working in a regulated industry (cannabis preferred), including compliance with seed-to-sale tracking systems and regulatory reporting requirements Proven ability to manage crop cycles, harvest planning, and production forecasting Experience with regulatory compliance and seed-to-sale tracking systems Strong leadership, organizational, and documentation skills Work Environment & Physical Requirements 3-5 years of work performed primarily in greenhouse and cultivation environments Exposure to humidity, agricultural chemicals, and varying temperatures Degree in related field preferred Advanced knowledge of cannabis genetics, plant nutrition, pH balancing, and automated environmental controls. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
