Job Description

Overview Kings-Ransom Farm is a 5th generation family owned dairy in eastern NY. We milk 1700 Registered Holsteins 3X and combine that with a significant genetics marketing program. We also operate King Brothers Dairy, a retail business that processes, bottles and delivers our milk products to numerous area businesses and homes. An on farm ice cream parlor welcomes visitors year-round. We are seeking a leader who is dedicated and knowledgeable to oversee out calf management program. This is a key role on our dairy farm ensuring the overall health, growth, and productivity while keeping accurate records and being a team leader. The ideal candidate would be trustworthy, hardworking, has leadership qualities, and has the drive to manage a successful calf program Duties Feeding calves Calf health-preventative care, detection of sickness/injury & treatment of sick animals Direct communication and leadership of calf care team to complete daily tasks listed below Works with and reports to Herd Manager and Herd Veterinarian to troubleshoot calf issues Communicates weekly with Freehold Manager/Wyoming Manager on moving calves West. Report health concerns, performance trends, and inventory needs to management Train and supervise calf care employees as assigned. Ensure team members follow established feeding, health, safety, and animal welfare protocols. Promote a positive and productive work environment. Experience Dairy farm experience Calf experience Animal handling/husbandry experience
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
