Job Description

Cooper Farms is a family-owned farm and food company based in Northwest Ohio for over 85 years. A commitment to teamwork and quality has made us one of the top turkey, hog and egg companies in the U.S. and awarded the company and its team an excellent reputation. Our Oakwood Division in Paulding County, Ohio, breeds hogs and turkeys while providing the best care to our animals in a small team setting. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Sow Unit Manager to join our team in Oakwood. The primary goal of this position is to oversee all daily activities of the farm to produce the highest quality, disease-free wean pigs at the least possible cost while maintaining a safe and productive work area which promotes personal growth.
SHIFT HOURS
This is a Monday through Friday salary role
STARTING RATE
Commensurate with experience
ADDITIONAL PAY
Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)
Job Functions:
Makes strong, confident decisions on a daily basisPromotes communication between farm management and team membersDemonstrates animal care in all areas of production and ensures that animal care is being applied by all employeesFollows all bio-security measures and maintains proper herd healthMonitor animals daily for feed, water, comfort, and health concernsBe familiar with and enforce all aspects of bio-security policyAdminister medicines and vaccines as directedEnsure daily animal handling activities are done in accordance with SOPTakes responsibility for alarm calls and all calls related to suchClosely monitors ventilation and environment of buildingsKeeps facilities clean and well maintainedKeeps accurate and timely recordsHolds team members accountable and accepts responsibility for their actionsPromotes team member participation in all company programs
