FARMS\r\n\r\nTabula Rasa Farms is a 440 acre, diversified, regenerative farm that sits amongst the foothills of Oregon's Coast Range, 4 miles west of Carlton, OR. We have an integrated livestock and garden operation where we raise grass-fed/grass-finished cattle, forested and pasture-raised heritage breed hogs, laying hens, and turkeys. Our 3 acre market garden runs a 4-season program growing 140 varieties of vegetables and fruits supporting local restaurants and a CSA program.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nTabula Rasa Farms is part of the ecosystem of The Ground which is based in the beautiful Willamette Valley. The Ground is a business that connects farm, food, and people through hospitality.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWHY WE NEED YOU\r\n\r\nWe are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and team-oriented individual to lead our seasonal pack shed operations during the busiest part of the growing season. This role is guaranteed through January, with the potential to grow into a longer-term opportunity for the right candidate.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Market Garden Pack Shed Lead works closely with the Farm Operations Manager, Field Lead and garden team to oversee the daily flow of produce through the pack shed. This position is responsible for leading and delegating tasks to the pack shed team, ensuring produce is properly cleaned, sorted, packed, organized, and prepared for CSA/garden shares and customer deliveries.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThis role requires strong organization, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to lead a team efficiently while maintaining quality standards and timelines in a fast-paced environment.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n
Responsibilities:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\tLead daily pack shed operations including washing, sorting, bunching, packing, and organizing produce for distribution \r\n\tDelegate tasks to team members based on strengths, skills, and daily operational needs \r\n\tEnsure all CSA/garden share orders and customer deliveries are packed accurately and efficiently \r\n\tMaintain high standards for cleanliness, food safety, organization, and quality control within the pack shed \r\n\tCoordinate workflow and prioritize tasks to meet harvest and delivery timelines \r\n\tAssist with inventory tracking, labeling, and light record keeping \r\n\tCommunicate clearly with the Farm Operations Manager regarding daily production needs, staffing, and operational issues Support harvest and field work as needed during peak periods \r\n\tHelp maintain pack shed tools, wash stations, coolers, and workspaces \r\n\tFoster a positive, collaborative, and productive team environment\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n
Requirements\r\nQualifications and Skills:
\r\n\r\n
Must-Have:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\tCurrent, valid driver's license and clean driving record in order to be insurable for farm vehicle use\r\n\tPrevious experience working in agriculture, produce handling, food production, warehouse operations, or similar environments \r\n\tDemonstrated leadership experience or the ability to confidently lead and delegate within a team setting \r\n\tStrong organizational skills and attention to detail\r\n\tAbility to maintain focus and efficiency while managing repetitive and fast-paced tasks \r\n\tComfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions \r\n\tAble to meet the physical demands of farm work including standing for long periods, bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs \r\n\tAbility to work independently while also collaborating closely with a team \r\n\tStrong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n
Nice-to-Have:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\tExperience working with CSA or produce distribution systems \r\n\tFamiliarity with post-harvest handling and food safety best practices \r\n\tExperience with inventory management or order fulfillment systems \r\n\tGeneral knowledge of vegetable production and seasonality \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Schedule:
\r\n\r\nMonday-Friday, Average 40+ hours/week during peak season, with occasional additional hours as needed \r\nWeekend availability may occasionally be required based on harvest and delivery schedules\r\n\r\n\r\n
Wages:
\r\n\r\n$18-20/hr\r\n\r\nNo benefits as this is a temporary, seasonal position\r\n\r\n
