Ketterman Ranch is seeking an experienced Lead Ranch Foreman to join our team in the Texas Hill Country. This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing daily ranch activities, animal care, property maintenance, and ranch staff. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, leads by example, and enjoys working outdoors. The ideal candidate will have strong ranch experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to help maintain the high standards expected at Ketterman Ranch. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Lead Ranch Foreman will work directly under the Ranch Manager and help oversee the day-to-day execution of ranch operations. This position is not a desk job. The successful candidate will work alongside ranch hands while helping coordinate work, maintain accountability, and ensure ranch standards are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Ranch Operations Supervise and assist ranch hands with daily work assignments Lead by example and maintain a strong work ethic Ensure daily tasks are completed safely and efficiently Report operational issues and recommendations to the Ranch Manager Help maintain a positive, professional, and drama-free work environment Animal Care Assist with the feeding, care, and monitoring of exotic wildlife and livestock Observe animals for signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior Assist with animal handling, transport, and veterinary care when necessary Maintain feeding equipment, feeders, water systems, and related infrastructure Property Maintenance Inspect and maintain fences, gates, roads, barns, pens, water systems, and ranch facilities Operate tractors, skid steers, UTVs, trailers, and other ranch equipment Perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs Identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems Land Management Assist with pasture management, brush control, mowing, and general land stewardship Maintain ranch appearance and property standards Support wildlife and habitat management initiatives Safety & Accountability Ensure ranch employees follow safety procedures and ranch policies Maintain equipment in a safe operating condition Report accidents, injuries, and safety concerns promptly Help train and mentor ranch staff
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior ranch foreman, ranch hand, agricultural, livestock, wildlife, or similar experience Strong leadership and communication skills Experience operating tractors, heavy equipment, trailers, and ranch vehicles Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues Experience with fencing, water systems, and general ranch maintenance Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to lift, carry, and perform physically demanding work Valid driver's license with clean driving record
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with exotic wildlife Experience supervising ranch employees Bilingual (English/Spanish) Welding, fabrication, or advanced mechanical skills
