Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a progressive dairy operation seeking an experienced, hands-on Dairy Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation and overall performance of the dairy. This position will provide leadership across herd management, reproduction, feeding and nutrition, facilities, employee management, and operational performance. The Dairy Manager will oversee herd health and reproductive programs, including breeding protocols, genetic and semen selection, replacement planning, heifer inventory, and culling decisions. This individual will monitor reproductive performance and herd health trends while working closely with the veterinarian and nutritionist to optimize animal health, feed efficiency, ration performance, and overall herd productivity. Additional responsibilities include overseeing feed and commodity inventory, monitoring feed accuracy and waste, maintaining accurate production and inventory records, and ensuring preventative maintenance programs are followed for milking, feeding, manure, and other dairy equipment. The Dairy Manager will also oversee cow comfort, ventilation, bedding, facility conditions, and equipment repairs. This position will be responsible for employee scheduling, hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and maintaining accountability throughout the dairy team. The Dairy Manager will work closely with ownership and outside consultants while ensuring established animal welfare, milk quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards are consistently followed.

- Strong dairy management experience with a thorough understanding of day-to-day dairy operations
- Proven employee supervision, leadership, and team development experience
- Strong herd health and reproduction management skills
- Experience managing breeding programs, genetic selection, and reproductive performance
- Working knowledge of dairy nutrition, feeding programs, and feed inventory management
- Experience with DairyComp, EZ Feed, VAS, or similar dairy management software
- Knowledge of dairy facilities, equipment, and preventative maintenance programs
- Strong organizational, recordkeeping, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to monitor production, labor, and financial performance to identify areas for improvement
