Position Summary The Breeder Flock Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the health, welfare, performance, and egg production of breeder turkey flocks across assigned company-owned and contract grower farms. This position works closely with growers to ensure compliance with company standards related to bird husbandry, biosecurity, animal welfare, and production goals. The Turkey Breeder Flock Supervisor serves as a key liaison between the company, growers, veterinarians, and support teams to promote flock performance and operational excellence. Duties and Responsibilities Flock Health and Welfare Monitor the health and well-being of breeder turkey flocks through regular farm visits and inspections. Identify and address flock health concerns promptly, coordinating with veterinarians and management as needed. Conduct mortality reviews and assist with necropsies when required. Oversee vaccination and medication programs according to company protocols. Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and best management practices. Production Management Monitor breeder flock performance, including egg production, fertility, hatchability, body weights, feed consumption, water intake, and mortality rates. Evaluate production trends and recommend corrective actions when performance goals are not met. Assist growers with feed management, lighting programs, environmental controls, and flock management practices. Monitor male and female breeder performance to ensure production objectives are achieved. Grower Relationship Management Develop and maintain positive working relationships with contract growers. Provide training, coaching, and technical support to growers on company production standards and flock management practices. Conduct routine farm audits and communicate opportunities for improvement. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned growers regarding flock performance and management concerns. Biosecurity and Compliance Enforce company biosecurity policies and procedures across all assigned farms. Conduct biosecurity audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented when necessary. Promote disease prevention practices and monitor compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Ensure all visitors, contractors, and farm personnel follow established biosecurity protocols. Recordkeeping and Reporting Maintain accurate flock records, including mortality, feed usage, medication administration, production performance, and service reports. Analyze and communicate flock performance data to management. Complete farm visit reports and document observations, recommendations, and corrective actions. Assist with audits, regulatory inspections, and company reporting requirements. Facility and Equipment Oversight Monitor farm facilities and equipment to ensure proper operation and maintenance. Evaluate ventilation, heating, cooling, watering, and feeding systems for effectiveness. Report facility or equipment issues and coordinate corrective actions as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of poultry, turkey production, agricultural operations, or animal husbandry experience preferred. Experience working with breeder flocks and contract growers is strongly preferred.
