Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties Under the direction of the Captain, the Lieutenant is part of the Investigations / Records Unit. Investigates Citizen Complaints and conducts Internal Affairs Investigations. Manages and accesses confidential personnel records, including assurance of retention schedule compliance. Receives, reviews, and develops responses to Public Records Act requests. Responds to reporting requirements regarding peace office employment statuses and misconduct complaints. Conducts background investigations. Assists with recruitment, hiring, legislative, and regulations efforts.
