Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties Under the supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisor), the Fish and Wildlife (F&W) Scientific Aid will conduct boat-based juvenile salmon surveys and assist with daily maintenance and monitoring of rotary screw fish traps on the Lower Sacramento River near the town of Verona ?and may potentially work on other fisheries projects through the North Central Region. The Fish and Wildlife Scientific Aid classification is a non-testing classification.

• Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program. If CalWORKs verification is not submitted with the application, it will not be processed as CalWORKs eligible.
• Participation by a public assistance recipient is voluntary and in no event shall any person be subject to sanctions, through loss of benefits or eligibility, for not applying for, accepting, or continuing in a seasonal or entry level non-testing classification opening.

You will find additional information about the job in the . Working Conditions Fieldwork will be conducted in the Lower Sacramento River near Verona. Field surveys require daily boating and working in swift water conditions and may include wading, boating (jet boats, kayaks, canoes, and pontoon boats), and swimming in inclement weather (hot, cold, and wet) conditions. Office space will be provided at the Rancho Cordova office for data entry quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and assisting with anadromous fishery documents. This position requires the incumbent to wear a uniform identifying the employee as CDFW staff on certain occasions. Possession of a valid Driver's License is required. Occasional overnight travel may be required (less than 5% of the time). Minimum Requirements
