Spat Tech is an oyster hatchery located in Perkinston, Mississippi. At Spat Tech our main goal is coastal restoration. We raise larvae to a settable size, and set at our setting facility. We then deploy these set oysters to the Gulf of Mexico where they will live out the rest of their days and filter the Gulf! We are a small company of 23 employees and looking to grow. We are looking for someone to grow with our company while working with oyster broodstock. We currently produce roughly 1.5B oysters a year, but would like to improve on that. The duties include, but are not limited to, oyster husbandry, oyster intake, making salt water, adjusting daily feed and water flows, data collection of the production process, and general housekeeping. Successful candidates will have a strong work-ethic, get along with others, have an attention to detail, and be self-motivated. A bachelor's in marine science, biology, or environmental sciences is preferred but not essential. Spat-Tech is a for-profit company, and is focused on production to achieve oyster reef restoration goals.
