Job Description

Perform basic water quality sampling. Perform feedings at scheduled intervals. Perform harvesting, sorting, and packing of fish to be shipped. Assist in the unpacking, acclimating and conditioning of incoming marine life. Perform basic animal care, which includes feeding, treatments, and observations. Collect, record, and analyze data. Assist in the construction and maintenance of aquaculture systems and equipment, as needed. Must work well with others. Must be able to work independently. Perform other job-related tasks, even outside of standard working hours, to ensure the successful operation of the company. Assist in cleanliness of fish holding facilities. Includes checking and changing filters, draining and cleaning tanks, wiping down equipment and floors. Data entry, stocktake and inventory Able to follow protocols. Able to pay close attention to detail. •

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
Job involves frequent bending, stooping, ducking, pushing, pulling, and lifting Up to 50 lbs. Very infrequent sitting. Work is performed in a non-climate controlled warehouse environment (in water, in tanks) or outdoors under shade cloth.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience working in marine environment with pumps, plumbing, tanks, and water systems preferred. Experience with fish/invertebrate husbandry is preferred. Experience culturing phytoplankton and/or zooplankton is preferred. Associate or Bachelor's degree in biology or aquaculture is a plus. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
