Job Description

Job Title- Aquaculture Technician (Catfish Farm)
Openings:
Full Time with regular weekends required. Company- Fish Breeders of Idaho/Big Bend Trout/Fish Processors is a collection of fish farms in the Magic Valley of Idaho. We are a small family business with about 25-30 employees that was established in 1974 and have made a name for ourselves providing the highest quality of catfish, tilapia, trout, sturgeon, and white sturgeon caviar. A background in animal husbandry, fisheries, and/or farming is preferred but not required. On the job training will include fish farming basics such as such as how to complete chores, disease recognition, variables of water quality and their effects, spawning for catfish and/or sturgeon, how to run equipment such as the tractor, backhoe, and livehaul, and other skills pertaining to the job. Regular tasks include but are not limited to: Feeding fish, removing mortality, cleaning rearing units, maintaining farm appearance, repairing and maintaining tools and equipment, moving fish, driving between farms, completing daily and weekly paperwork, and assisting with other duties of running the farms. Applicants should be able to write legibly on paperwork and be competent with basic math.
