Maintenance Seasonal - Headwaters Ice Rink (Riverfront)
Schedule/Hours:
15-30 hours per week | Varied schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays Do you enjoy hands-on work, helping people have fun, and keeping a high-energy environment running smoothly-especially in a unique, winter-focused setting? What You'll Do Support daily operations at the Headwaters Ice Rink by helping maintain the ice, assist guests, and keep the facility safe, welcoming, and ready for skaters of all ages. Key Responsibilities Open, close, and help secure the ice rink facility Assist with ice maintenance, resurfacing, and general rink preparation Operate or learn to operate a Zamboni and related ice maintenance equipment Provide friendly, professional customer service to skaters and guests Support admissions, skate rentals, concessions, and inventory needs Supervisory Responsibilities Assists with supervision and training of staff and volunteers as needed What You Bring - Education & Experience High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience One to three months of related work experience or training preferred Preferred Certifications First Aid and CPR certification (American Heart Association) or ability to obtain within two weeks of hire Valid Indiana Driver's License Technical Skills & Knowledge Willingness and ability to learn Zamboni operation quickly Strong communication skills and attention to detail Comfort working in a customer-facing, team-oriented environment Ability to sharpen rental skates Why Work for the City of Fort Wayne Be part of a signature Riverfront attraction and seasonal destination Flexible, part-time hours ideal for students, retirees, and supplemental income seekers Hands-on experience in facility operations and event support Work with a Parks & Recreation team focused on safety, service, and community fun Equal Opportunity Employer
