Job Description Summary:

The Radiology Tech Assistant assists the technologists and physician with duties associated with image acquisition, patient care, & clerical duties. The Radiology Tech Assistant supports the goals of the department and hospital by through excellent customer relations skills. Essential Functions Processes exposed radiographic cassettes in a timely and accurate manner. Able to utilize

HIS/RIS/PACS

in order to provide best patient care. Retrieves images and reports as requested by ULH customers in a timely manner. Copies/prints radiographs as requested in a timely manner. Answers phone using appropriate customer relations skills and routes calls to appropriate location as needed. Processes requisitions in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures work area is kept clean, neat and orderly, and stocked with supplies. Maintains an ethical and professional relationship with ULH customers. Assists technologist in any manner that expedites patient examination to include transporting, lifting/moving patients, and completing exams. Ensures linen hampers are emptied at end of the respective shift. Attends and participates in department staff meetings. Assists in orienting new employees. Takes an active role in gaining or maintaining proficiency in hospital and radiology equipment and information systems needed in performance of job responsibilities. Presents a positive image of the hospital and department. Performs other duties as assigned.
